For the Ryegrass redevelopment, Woodstock—a sensitive project replacing 1950s infrastructure with sustainable, modern dwellings — SC4 Decorators was selected based on our reputation for integrated delivery.
The accommodation is split into 24no 1Bedroom and 13no 2Bedroom flats with the façade being constructed in reconstituted stone to match the local area.
Programme Certainty
We understand that the decorating trade is the "gatekeeper" to the handover. At Ryegrass, our management team worked in tandem with Feltham’s site office to:
- Phase Seamlessly: Coordinated mobilization in September 2025 to ensure decorators followed immediately after first-fix and second-fix trades, preventing "dead time" on the master schedule.
- Resource Flexibility: Scaled our workforce across the four two-storey blocks to absorb minor delays in preceding trades, keeping the February 2026 handover viable.
Commercial Rigidity & Value
In a Design and Build environment, cost certainty is paramount. SC4 provides:
- Waste & Material Management: By utilizing high-yield trade coatings and efficient spray/roller applications, we minimized material waste—supporting the project’s carbon-reduction goals and keeping costs lean.
- Reliable Supply Chain: Our established relationships with major manufacturers ensured that the specific low-VOC paints required for this Cottsway Housing project were secured at fixed rates despite market fluctuations, ensuring we could provide an upfront fixed price for the decorating works.
Sustainability & Compliance
The Ryegrass project features air source heat pumps and PV cells, signalling a high-spec, eco-conscious build. SC4 matched this ambition by:
- Implementing Low-VOC coating schedules to ensure BREEAM/sustainability compliance.
- Maintaining rigorous RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements) tailored to the specific risks of working on multi-storey residential blocks.
