SC4 Carpenters Making Swift Progress on 281 New Homes in Lakeside Theale Development
SC4 Carpenters Ltd is delighted to share an update on our ongoing contract with Ridgepoint Homes, delivering comprehensive commercial carpentry services for 281 high-quality new homes in the picturesque village of Theale.
Work commenced on site in October 2024 as part of Ridgepoint Homes' landmark Lakeside development, which will ultimately deliver 325 contemporary properties. The scheme features a diverse mix of two, three, and four-bedroom houses alongside two-bedroom apartments, creating a vibrant new residential community.
Setting High Standards: Record-Breaking Trusses & Structural Excellence
Over the initial six months of the build, the SC4 carpentry teams worked efficiently to complete the structural first-fix elements across both houses and large apartment blocks — including floor joists, staircases, and complex roof structures.
The project has already marked a notable milestone for SC4: assembling and erecting some of the largest attic roof trusses in our company’s history, measuring an impressive 4.5 metres in height.
Turning Houses into Homes
By June 2025, momentum on site continued at pace as first and second fix joinery got well under way, particularly within the shared ownership apartment blocks. Working alongside Ridgepoint Homes’ site management and wider sub-contracting teams, SC4’s skilled carpenters have helped bring the first set of apartments through to full completion, ready to welcome their new owners.
