Celebrating Women in Construction 2023
On International Women's Day 2023, Owner/Director of SC4 Carpenters Ltd, Katy Hall, discusses the many opportunities for Women in Construction in this Federation of Master Builders mini documentary.
The last 5 years, has seen a positive change in attitudes to increase the number of women entering the construction industry.
Women now make up 11% of the workforce, making strides in management, surveying, estimating, legislation, health & safety, design, sales and administration.
But there is still work to be done - only 1% of UK's on-site construction workers are women.
Katy discusses her experience over her 20 years and the shift in attitudes to women in construction.
We are excited to welcome more and more women to the industry.
Happy International Women's Day!
